February 24, 2005 - General Manager Larry Harris announced today that the Milwaukee Bucks have acquired center Calvin Booth, forward Alan Henderson and an undisclosed amount of cash from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for forward Keith Van Horn.
Booth, a 6-11, 231-lb sixth-year center, has averaged 4.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 233 career games. Drafted by Washington in the second round (35th overall) of the 1999 NBA Draft, Booth played in 51 games with the Wizards before being traded to Dallas where he finished out the 2001 season. Booth signed as a free agent with Seattle and played three seasons with the SuperSonics before being traded to Dallas prior to the 2004-05 campaign. In 34 games with the Mavericks this season, Booth is averaging 2.4 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7.7 minutes per contest.
A 10-year NBA veteran, Alan Henderson has averaged 8.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 537 career games. Originally drafted by Atlanta in the first round (16th overall) of the 1995 NBA Draft, Henderson, 32, played nine seasons with the Hawks, where he won the 1997-98 NBA Most Improved Player Award. Prior to the 2004-05 season, the 6-9, 240-lb forward was traded with Jason Terry and a future first round draft choice to the Dallas Mavericks for Antoine Walker and Tony Delk. In 52 games this season, Henderson is averaging 3.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game.
Van Horn, 29, was acquired by Milwaukee from New York on February 15, 2004, and played in 58 games for the Bucks, averaging 12.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest. In 493 games over his eight-year career, Van Horn has averaged 17.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
