SL: Bucks 88, D-League Select 77
The Milwaukee Bucks improved their summer league record to 2-1 as they handed the NBA D-League Select Team their second consecutive loss, 88-77, in the final game in Cox Pavilion on the campus of UNLV on Thursday night.
Tobias Harris led the Bucks with a game high 21 points and 12 rebounds. In addition to Harris' effort, the Bucks saw offensive output from John Henson with 15 points and Tarence Kinsey with 14. The NBA D-League Select Team was led by Kenny Hayes with 15 points while Chris Daniels and Jerry Smith each added 10.
Milwaukee held a 28-17 lead over the NBA D-League Select Team after the first quarter of play. Henson led the Bucks with seven points in the quarter while Hayes led the NBA D-League Select Team with eight.
Milwaukee built their lead to as many as 17 in the second quarter and led 45-33 at the half.
The Bucks held a 61-54 advantage at the end of the third quarter after the NBA D-League Select Team climbed back into the game in cutting the lead to just four with 1:15 left in the period however that is as close as it would get as the Bucks held on for the victory.
The NBA D-League Select Team will return to action on Friday, July 20 as they play the Phoenix Suns at 7:00 p.m. in Cox Pavilion. The Milwaukee Bucks return to action on Saturday, July 21 as they play in the final game of the night at 7:30 p.m. and host the Boston Celtics.
