Head Coach Scott Skiles On the play of Brandon Jennings…
“I thought he had a pretty good all around game. We had a really nice floor game again and he easily could have had 10 or 12 assists. Detroit’s guards gave us problems the last two games and kept us on our heels defensively. He came out in the third quarter and gave us a huge lift and, you know, got in the zone. It once again shows you a different element of his game.”
On the Bucks bench…
“The bench was good. Early on in both games we have kind of been sluggish out of the gate so we have to try to find something we can do about that. The whole second half I thought we had good intensity, played good defense, spread the ball out and played well.”
On Andrew Bogut…
“We were so guarded with him during the exhibition season, moderating his minutes. We have to give him a little time to really get his regular season legs under him. I thought he was better in the second half as well, he made a couple big plays.”
Guard Brandon Jennings
On his third quarter performance…
“We were working on cutting the lead down as much as possible, but it wasn’t just me. I thought everyone contributed well in the third quarter to go on a nice little run.”
On the importance of winning at home…
“You know me, I’m a competitor. If things are going well, I like to get the crowd going. Let’s get this place jumping this year, and that’s going to help us win basketball games like tonight. The fans were behind us and that got everybody going.”
On his first two NBA games…
“Pretty good. It’s a long season, though, and it’s early. Everybody has to contribute across the board.”
Forward Hakim Warrick
On tonight’s game…
“We tried to get out right away and get some transition points. We did a much better job in the second half pushing the tempo and I think that’s what got us over the top.”
On match up problems…
“You have to be able to spread the floor. When you got a guy like Andrew Bogut who can score in the post and a guy like Brandon (Jennings) who doesn’t need much room, it’s deadly.”
On playing back-to-back games…
“It’s a tough thing to do but at the same time it’s really important. I think that’s what makes Brandon’s performance even better. Not only is this his first two games but they happen to be back-to-back.” |
