THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE (THROWS) - The Bucks are averaging 26.6 free throw attempts per game,
(14th in the NBA), which is an improvement on the 20.4 attempts they averaged last year (29th in the league). Corey
Maggette has connected on 88.9 percent (40-45) from the charity stripe, good for 24th in the league. His 40 made
free throws are tied for ninth in the NBA and his 6.4 FTA per game rank 20th.
YOU WIN SOME, YOU LOSE SOME - The Bucks are out to a 2-5 start to begin the season. The last time the team started the season 2-5 was in 2006-07 (finished 28-54) but prior to that, the Bucks began the 2000-01 season 2- 5. That was the last time the Bucks won the Central Division and played in the Eastern Conference Finals. In the Bucks two victories this season, the team is shooting 41.6 percent from the field and 45.2 percent from 3-point range while limiting their opponents to 89.0 points. Brandon Jennings is averaging 19.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in Bucks victories while John Salmons adds 18.0 points and 4.0 rebounds. DEFENSIVE DEER - The Bucks have allowed their foes to score 100-plus points just once this season (in an overtime game at Boston), giving the team a seven-game stretch without giving up 100 points in regulation. That is the longest streak to start a season in team history outside of the shortened 1998-99 season when Charlotte scored 113 in the first game (in overtime) and not again until Indiana scored 109 in the 18th game of the year. Miami, New Orleans and Orlando have all yet to give up 100 points this season. Milwaukee is giving up 93.0 points each night, good for fifth in the league. NEARING NUMBERS - On Saturday, Andrew Bogut (3,059) passed Ervin Johnson for 10th place in franchise history for rebounds. Bogut is now three rebounds away from passing Alton Lister (3,062) for ninth place. With 4,302 points he needs 35 to pass Jay Humphries (4,336) for 20th in team history and at 461 blocks, he needs 14 more to pass Randy Breuer for fifth place. A few other Bucks are closing in on personal milestones. Carlos Delfino (249) is one steal away from 250 for his career. Delfino (346) also needs four threes to reach 350. John Salmons (447) needs three 3-pointers for 450 in his career. Keyon Dooling is three steals away from 400. Brandon Jennings (485) is 15 field goals away from 500 for his career. Drew Gooden (6,959) is 46 points away from 7,000 for his career.
