| NEW PAINT JOB – The Bucks obliterated their previous season high for points in the paint last night, piling up 72
points on 36-of-55 shooting in the key. While the 72 points were by far the high water mark this season (previously
58), the explosion was far from a fluke. Scoring inside has been a trend for the Bucks as of late, as their four
highest PinP point totals of the season have come him in the last three weeks. IDES OF MIKE – There's no need for Milwaukee to beware of March. The month has seen the Bucks post an 8-4 record so far, and the team's points per game average has gone up to 106.3 – over 10 points higher than the 96.2 average of December through February. One major reason for that is the scoring off the bench from Mike Dunleavy. He has had nine double-figure scoring games this month, including each of his last eight appearances. Milwaukee is 2-9 in the games Dunleavy has missed this season, and 20-15 with him in the lineup. GOOD (EN) VIBRATIONS – Prior to the All-Star break, Drew Gooden missed four games with a right wrist sprain. During that time, the Bucks went 1-3 and scored just 89.5 points per game. In the 14 games since Gooden has returned to the lineup, the Bucks have averaged 106.5 points and topped 100 nine times. Individually, Gooden has averaged 17.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game over those 14. In that span he's posted six double-doubles, one tripledouble, and recorded three of his highest point totals this season (season-high 27 vs. Chicago on 3/7, 26 at Atlanta on 3/2 and 25 vs. Philadelphia on 3/5). THE SECRET – Milwaukee has gone 8-2 in its last 10 games, including a season-long six-game winning streak. Over that span, the Bucks are averaging 108.4 ppg, 30.1 apg and 7.6 3FGM/game. The following numbers have been benchmarks that have virtually guaranteed victory over that span: 100: Milwaukee is posting a tidy 18-4 record when cracking the century mark. The Bucks have tallied 100+ points in eight of the last nine games, going
7-2 in that span, after doing so just once in the previous 12 games (3-9 over that stretch).
30: The Bucks have handed out 30 assists in five of the last six games. Milwaukee is 9-0 when topping 30 assists in a game. 10: Milwaukee is 9-0 this season when tallying 10+ treys, including Tuesday's win at Portland in which the Bucks went 11-of-21 from long distance. ERSANITY! – While Linsanity was taking the Big Apple by storm, Ersan Ilyasova produced a historic night of his own just across the Hudson. Ilyasova erupted for career highs of 29 points and 25 rebounds in Milwaukee's win at New Jersey on 2/19, becoming the first Bucks player in over 30 years to tally 25+ points and rebounds in a single game. Ilyasova becomes just the third member of the 25/25 club in Bucks history, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Swen Nater.
