Paschketball's Playoff Points - 5/10/12

There are three more first round NBA Playoff games tonight.  Philadelphia, Boston and the Los Angeles Lakers all have 3-2 series leads with a chance to advance tonight.

Chicago at Philadelphia (Philadelphia Leads 3-2)

  • Chicago’s 77 points in game five, is the second lowest point total in a Playoff victory in franchise history. (75 vs. Miami in ’97)
  • Philadelphia is 0-2 at home in game six when leading a series three games to two.
  • Chicago has lost 11 of its last 14 road Playoff games and has been held under 100 points in the last ten.
  • Jrue Holiday has been a barometer for the Sixers scoring 21 PPG in victories and just 16 in each of the two losses.

Atlanta at Boston ( Boston Leads 3-2)

  • Atlanta has scored under 90 points in its last seven Playoff games, the longest such streak in franchise history.
  • The Hawks are turning the ball over in the Playoffs, averaging 15.8 a game which is the third highest average in the postseason.
  • Rajon Rondo has three playoffs games with 12 or more assists.  No other player has one such game.
  • Boston has won 32 of its last 40 Playoff games at home.  That is the best home Playoff record in the league since the ’06-07 postseason.
  • Atlanta’s Josh Smith is the top rebounder in the post season at 14.8.  He has not had fewer than 12 boards in any game. Smith and Rondo are the only players with four Playoff double-doubles this year.
  • Paul Pierce is another barometer player.  He has averaged 27 points in Boston victories and just 14 in losses.
  • Atlanta has defended the paint very well in this series, holding Boston under 40 points in every game.
  • Since 2008, Ray Allen (182) has made more Playoff three-pointers than any NBA player.

Los Angeles Lakers at Denver (LA Leads 3-2)

  • The Lakers have won 24 of their last 40 game sixes when up 3-2 in the series.  They have won 24 of 35 on the road in that instance.
  • Denver owns the best Fast Break Point differential in the Playoffs: 21-11.2
  • Keep an eye on the Lakers Points in the Paint tonight.  Los Angeles has averaged 54.7 in the pain in three victories and just 38 in two losses.
