  • Tonight’s game marked the second straight season in which the Bucks opened the season at home. The last time Milwaukee had back-to-back seasons with home games to start the season was from 1982-1984 when Milwaukee started three consecutive seasons (1982-83, 1983-84, 1984-85) at home.
  • Milwaukee is now 25-24 in season opening games, with a 5-6 record at home and 20-18 record on the road. The Bucks last win in a season opening home game came on 10/27/84 with a 108-106 win over the Bulls.
  • With tonight’s win, Charlotte extended its winning streak vs. the Bucks at the BMO Harris Bradley Center to six straight games. The last time the Bucks won at home vs. the Hornets was on 4/1/13 (131-102).
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a game-high 31 points and now has three 30+ point games in his career. Antetokounmpo’s 31 points are tied with Marques Johnson (10/20/78) for the fifth-most in a home opener in franchise history, behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (39, 10/24/70), Terry Cummings (34, 10/27/84), Ray Allen (32, 11/3/01) and Glenn Robinson (32, 11/1/97).
  • Kemba Walker finished with 17 points on the night. He surpassed Gerald Wallace (109 points in seven career openers) to move into second place for the most total points scored in season-opening games in Hornets franchise history (117 in six career openers).
  • Mirza Teletovic and Matthew Dellavedova were both in the starting lineup on opening night for the first time in their respective careers. Teletovic finished with six points, three rebounds and one assist in 27 minutes while Dellavedova added 11 points, three rebounds and three assists in 29 minutes.

  • Greg Monroe posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards. Monroe led the Bucks in double-doubles in 2015-16 with 32, which ranked tied for 17th in the league.

  • Michael Kidd-Gilchrist paced the Hornets with 23 points, reaching the 20+ point mark for the eighth time in his NBA career.
