"World's Largest Draft Party" happening at "World's Largest Music Festival"

The event is in conjunction with the 2008 NBA Draft – scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. – in which the Bucks own the 8th and 37th pick. A full menu of Bucks entertainment will be staged at the WLDP beginning at 6 p.m. Bucks forward Desmond Mason is scheduled to appear at the two-hour event, along with Bango, the Energee! Dance Team, the Bucks Rim Rockers, Super Force, the MBX Stunt Team, and Seniorgee (presented by the Village at Manor Park).

As part of the World’s Largest Draft Party, the Bucks will team up with FSN Wisconsin for a special two-hour “Bucks Live: Draft Special” program, featuring live coverage of the WLDP, exclusive interviews and live updates from Bucks Draft Headquarters at the team’s Training Center in St. Francis, and coverage of the NBA Draft. FSN’s programming and ESPN’s coverage will be shown live on a 9 x 12 LED screen at the newly reconfigured Summerfest Sports Area at Summerfest.

FSN Wisconsin’s live coverage of the World’s Largest Draft Party begins at 6:00 p.m. with programming anchored from Summerfest with FSN Wisconsin host Trenni Kusnierek and Bucks Live analyst Mike McCollow. The two-hour special will include interviews with Bucks General Manager John Hammond and other members of the Bucks basketball and coaching staffs. Bucks FSN play-by-play voice Jim Paschke and Bucks WTMJ radio voice Ted Davis will assist with the live coverage from Summerfest, while Bucks FSN Analyst Jon McGlocklin will cover the draft from Bucks Draft Headquarters for FSN’s draft special.

“The NBA Draft is traditionally the beginning of preparation and renewed energy for the Bucks upcoming season,” said Bucks Vice President of Business Operations John Steinmiller. “We’re thrilled to offer our fans the opportunity to be part of the World’s Largest Draft Party at the World’s Largest Music Festival, Summerfest. Along with our partners Miller Brewing and FSN, we’re planning a live, cablecast show that will feature the draft and all of the picks, Summerfest, Bucks entertainment and breaking news – all packed into two hours. We’re hoping to see season subscribers and Bucks fans from everywhere!”

Bucks interactive contests will offer fans the opportunity to win prizes and help judge the Rim Rockers dunk contest. Admission to the WLDP is free with admission to Summerfest. Earlier on Thursday, Desmond Mason will host the Milwaukee Bucks Experience Show at the Summerfest Sports Zone at 1 p.m. The Milwaukee Bucks Energee! Dance Team follows at 2 p.m.
