Don Nelson - NBA Hall of Fame

Known for his unorthodox and innovative style former Bucks head coach Don Nelson (1976-1987) will forever be remembered as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame's 2012 Induction Class. Nelson remains the NBA's winningest coach with 1,335 career wins, 582 of those wins came with the Milwaukee Bucks. In his ten years in Milwaukee, Nelson holds the franchise best .611 winning percentage (540-344). Nelson is also credited with creating an offense that featured the "Point Forward" utilizing a forward handling the ball up the court freeing guards to run off of the ball. This set the stage for an up-tempo offense that poured in points and helped the Bucks to seven 50+ win seasons in Nelson's 10 years with the team. Nelson led the Bucks to seven consecutive division titles (1979-80 thru 1985-86).

Nelson will also be remembered for his colorful personality often wearing a fish tie and driving a giant ceramic pic (now on display at Major Goolsby's) around the state collecting money for struggling farmers.
