A Special Basketball Clinic
Bucks Join Special Olympic Athletes for Basketball Clinic
When you think of an NBA Player in "his element," you probably envision the heat of the battle, on-court game situation. On a wintry Friday night in Wisconsin, eight Bucks players and two coaches were in their element, but it wasn't on the BMO Harris Bradley Center court. Instead, it was on the Elite Sports Fitness court in Mequon, WI, where over one hundred Special Olympic Athletes gathered for a three hour clinic to learn skills and tips from Bucks professionals.
The Bucks Special Olympics Clinic is part of the long-standing support of the Special Olympics by the Bucks organization. There are many great community events throughout the year, but this one stands out among the rest. The joy on the faces of the Special Olympic Athletes is remarkable. The joy on the faces and in the voices of Bucks players and coaches is equally as remarkable. Smiles, laughter and excitement filled the gym.
March is Special Olympics Awareness month. For more information on the Special Olympics of Wisconsin, visit specialolympicswisconsin.org.
