Basketball Hall of Famer and former Milwaukee Bucks center Bob Lanier along with current Milwaukee Bucks player and Vaccines for Teens spokesperson Jerry Stackhouse teamed up with NBA Cares and the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM) to bring Vaccines for Teens to the Milwaukee community. Vaccines for Teens is a national awareness campaign designed to educate teens and their parents about the importance of vaccination against serious and potentially life-threatening diseases.
To tip off the campaign locally, Lanier and Stackhouse appeared at the Roosevelt Middle School of the Arts in Milwaukee to urge parents of preteens and teens to discuss adolescent vaccinations with their family physicians.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Dan Gadzuric and Bango visited the Glen Hills School as part of the Sam's Hope Reading Rally. 500 students in attendance received a book for their home library from the Milwaukee Bucks and Sam’s Hope Literacy Foundation. The event was a way of thanking the Glendale River Hills School District for their many years of service to the Bucks and Sam's Hope by warehousing all of the books used by the team for their events, loading and unloading the Bucks truck when needed prior to a Bucks event, set up and sorting as well.

The Northwestern Mutual Foundation has sponsored the Milwaukee Bucks Read To Achieve Library Reading Challenge for eight seasons. As part of their commitment to literacy, Northwestern Mutual employees read with students from Bruce Guadalupe Community School each week. This season, the mentors challenged their students to write a Milwaukee Bucks radio public service announcement featuring reading and the Read To Achieve program. Milwaukee Bucks play-by-play radio announcer, Ted Davis, spoke to the group about what elements make a successful PSA. Kids had two weeks to get creative. A panel of judges selected Leslie Lemus and Alondra Toledo as the winning PSA. In November, Leslie and Alondra got a once in a life time chance to record their PSA with Luc Richard Mbah a Moute at WTMJ's studios. Their PSA is airing on the Milwaukee Bucks Radio network the remainder of the 09-10 season. In addition, the girls and their families along with their teacher Leslie Harper enjoyed the Bucks Vs Portland game on Saturday, December 12th in the Milwaukee Bucks suite and had a chance to visit with Ted Davis and Dennis Krause as they broadcasted the game.

Heaven House Volunteer Appreciation Pizza Party October 21st Bucks rookies Brandon Jennings and Jodie Meeks attended an Appreciation Pizza Party to thank the volunteers contributing to the Heaven House Project, a new home for a generous family in Brookfield. The O'Brien family consists of 19 people: Parents Daniel and Lori, three biological children, 10 adopted children and four foster children. Their family home is in need of both repair and expansion, and their new home, the Heaven House, will be handicap accessible and large enough to accomodate more additions to their family. Photos
