Game highlights
Larry Krystkowiak
On Gilbert Arenas’ return:
“They have a bunch of weapons and they are very much of a team offense with the Princeton set and all the cutting. It was amazing when he came out on the floor to begin with. Everything he put up was real pure and reminiscent of last year when he beat us a couple of times. He’s a great player and he didn’t really change our game plan at all.”
On the last shot:
“Getting the ball to Andrew (Bogut) in the post was the plan. We anticipated him getting the shot off quick. I think he’s one of the better passing big men in the league and he had the presence of mind to get it to a guy for the open shot.”
On the clutch play of Sessions:
“Ramon Sessions has been working extremely hard as a rookie. He’s been down in the D-League and he’s been putting in a lot of hours so it was real fitting that he hit a game winner like that.”
Andrew Bogut
On the last shot:
“We were just trying to get the ball inside to get a good look at the basket. (Gilbert) Arenas came and doubled then the rookie made a good play. I didn’t know what I was going to do with the ball to be honest. I was just going to shoot a turnaround jumper. As soon as I caught it in the air, I realized Ramon’s man came to help so I threw it straight to him.”
On the play of Ramon Sessions:
“Defensively and offensively he was moving the ball. He had eight assists tonight. He’s still learning the game which is important. He’s playing hard and when he gets in there it’s a fresh look for us. He doesn’t want to go back to the D-League and I think he’s playing well.”
On Sessions late defensive play:
“He had the state of mind to call a timeout. Some guys might have panicked and looked to the coaches to call a timeout. He called a timeout right away and it was a big play for us.”
Ramon Sessions
On the last play:
“We ran a play and it wasn’t supposed to go to (Andrew)Bogut or myself. It was supposed to go to Michael Redd or Charlie Villanueva. They threw it in to Bogut and as soon as he got it, two guys came to double him and I saw him look me in the eye. He threw it to me and I just threw it up and it went in.”
On Gilbert Arenas’ return:
“I didn’t even know he was playing until he came out and got that standing ovation. He’s a great player. You can’t take anything away from him. He played well and we were just lucky to get a win.”
