Postgame News and Notes

The Blazers snapped a two-game skid to the Bucks at the Bradley Center and swept the season series 2-0 with tonight’s win. The Blazers tied the all-time series at 60 games apiece.

Brandon Roy’s dish to LaMarcus Aldridge at the buzzer gave the second-year player his seventh double-double of the season. Roy finished with 20 points and 10 assists.

With tonight’s win, the Blazers equaled their victory total of last season (32) in just 62 games.

The Bucks fell to 2-18 when their opponent shoots 50% or better. The Blazers hit 42 of 77 shots tonight, a 54.5% tally.

Portland took control of the game in the 4th quarter with a 14-0 run.

Michael Redd scored the last 10 points for the Bucks in the 4th quarter.

Charlie Villanueva scored double-figures for the eighth time in 13 starts since joining the starting lineup on Feb. 5. Charlie V. finished with 16 points, tops for any Buck until Michael Redd scored the final 10 to close the game.

Though they lost, the Bucks have now reached 100 points or more in nine of their last 10 games. The Bucks are 4-6 during that stretch, which dates back to a home loss against New Orleans on 2/13/2008.

Portland went on a 12-0 run during the 3rd quarter to turn an 8-point deficit into a 65-63 lead.

Former Buck Steve Blake scored 11 of his 21 points during the 3rd quarter.

Point parity: All five Bucks starters and four Blazers starters scored in double-digits tonight, the lone single-digit starter being Portland center Joel Pryzbilla.

Pryzbilla, however, was one board short of matching his season high of 16 rebounds. His 15 boards were a game high.

Milwaukee failed to block a single shot for the third time this season.

With 12 points, Andrew Bogut had his ninth straight double-digit scoring game.

Larry Krystkowiak

(On tonight’s game…)
“LaMarcus Aldridge made some huge plays. (Brandon) Roy made a nice play at the end of the ballgame. Beyond that, we lost the ballgame. It’s frustrating.”

(On the balanced offense tonight…)
“Overall, I thought we had some great performances. We had some balance. It was a hard fought game. We moved the ball pretty well and distributed. I thought everybody had opportunities to step up and for the most part we did that. The balance, that’s what we’ve been looking for. We need to continue the next 20 games and make sure we’ve got everybody thinking that they can step up.”

(On the second half...)
“We had some missed shots and turnovers. The bottom line is you have to get a shot to begin with. We had a turnover coming out of the timeout and then we had some opportunities. I thought the lid was on the basket in that third quarter. We were getting some really good looks and the ball was in and out on a number of opportunities, but we still fought. The shot’s aren’t always going to go in.”

Charlie Villanueva

(On the balanced offense…)
“We did a good job offensively. LaMarcus Aldridge played great. It was a tough game.”

(On the game-winning shot by Portland…)
“We thought Roy was going to make the play. He’s an All-Star. He did a great job of finding the open man and LaMarcus Aldridge hit a big time shot.”

Michael Redd

(On scoring the last ten points for the Bucks…)
“We couldn’t get anything done so I was just aggressive and attacking the rim, just trying to do whatever I could to help the team.”
