Postgame News and Notes

The Sixers’ win today is their fourth in a row and sixth in seven games. Dating to Feb. 5, Philly is 12-3 and has won the last 11 games they have scored at least 100 points in.

Sixers rookie Thaddeus Young recorded a career-high with 22 points today, besting a 20-point effort versus New York (2/20/2008). He was one of seven Philadelphia players to score in double-digits today.

Philadelphia’s 60.3% shooting percentage is the highest by any Bucks opponent this season. The Sixers hit 47 of 78 shots attempted.

The Bucks fell to 2-19 when their opponent shoots 50% or better.

Bucks rookie Ramon Sessions made his NBA debut this afternoon and earned his first 2 career points with 1:54 remaining in the game.

The Sixers took over the game’s opening quarter with a 21-6 run, turning a 4-point deficit into a 29-18 lead. Philly led 33-22 after one and outscored Milwaukee 9-3 to open the second frame.

Charlie Villanueva hit his first three shots on the way to a game-high 25 points. It is Charlie V.’s ninth double-digit scoring game in 15 contests since being inserted into the starting five on 2/5/2008 versus Memphis.

Sixers center Samuel Dalembert notched a double-double with 18 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

Desmond Mason (11) and Villanueva (13) teamed for 24 of the Bucks’ 31 points in the 3rd quarter.

Michael Redd scored 10 of his 19 points in the game’s opening quarter.

The Bucks missed their first 8 three-point attempts and finished 1 for 9 at the half (11.1%). They closed the game 3 of 15 from beyond the arc (20%).

The Bucks failed to reach 100 points for just the second time in their last 11 games.

The Sixers outscored the Bucks 30-4 in fast-break points.

Larry Krystkowiak

(On today’s game…)
“I don’t want to beat ourselves up. (Philadelphia) is a team now that’s won 11 out of 14 or something and you can see why. They play really hard. They attack. That level of athleticism is pretty impressive on their squad. Give them some credit. Whatever happened, we got outscored 30-4 in transition on our home court on a Sunday afternoon.”

(On struggling defensively lately…)
“Can we run harder? I don’t know. You watch it on film and all I know is guys on the other team are running by us. It’s a frustrating part of it. We just have to turn and dig. Those first few steps out of the starting block have to be with the intent to get back and I’m not sure we have the intensity to do that all the time.”

(On the 76ers setting the tempo of the game...)
“They kind of stole the will from us in our own building. It was demoralizing to have those high-percentage shots. They shot 60 percent, but when they have 30 points in transition you know that those 15 baskets (are easy). For the most part, you don’t miss many of those. That kills you defensively.”

Ramon Sessions

(On making his NBA debut…)
“It feels great. The first time getting out there is a dream come true. I’ve always dreamed about that and getting the chance to do it is a great feeling.”

(On his role with the team…)
“Whatever they have for me to do I’m willing to do. If I have to wait my turn, I have to wait my turn. Whatever they need me to do I’ll be ready to do.”

(On whether or not he was nervous…)
“At the scores table, my heart was pounding a little bit. I got used to the situation so it was pretty good overall.”

Michael Redd

(On today’s game…)
“We haven’t had a clue against Philly all year long and today was more evidence of that. Give them credit, they played well.”

(On losing today…)
“Every loss is frustrating, whether we lose by one or we lose by a lot. We just have to re-group and come back to practice tomorrow and get ready for Washington.”
