Postgame News and Notes

The Bucks saw overtime action for the fourth time this season and improved to an even 2-2 in those games. The Knicks fell to 2-5 in their seven overtime contests this season.

The Bucks’ win snaps a four-game losing streak against the Knicks in the teams’ final meeting of the season. The win prevented the Knicks from sweeping the season series for the fourth time in the Bucks’ 40 years. New York won last season’s series 3-1.

The Bucks’ 119 points is a new season high, topping 118 vs. Seattle (3/5/2008).

Bobby Simmons had a solid night off the bench, scoring 20 points or better for the first time with a season-high 24 points.

The Bucks improved to 19-18 at the Bradley Center on the season.

Tonight’s loss is New York’s ninth in 11 games. The Knicks dropped to 7-30 away from New York.

Comeback kids: The Bucks scored the first 11 points of the 4th quarter to tie the game at 88 apiece. The Knicks reacted with an 8-2 run. Later in the 4th quarter, a 12-4 Bucks run tied the game at 105 with 1:04 remaining.

Andrew Bogut extended a career high with his team-leading 33rd double-double of the season tonight, scoring 24 points and grabbing 13 boards.

Ramon Session’s 6 assists are a new career high.

Finishing with a game-high 36 points, Michael Redd surpassed the 30-point plateau for the 11th time this season. His 9 assists led the team.

New York and Milwaukee shot an identical 57.1% from the field in the 1st quarter, each hitting 12 of 21 shots.

After surrendering the first 4 points of the 3rd quarter, the Knicks outscored the Bucks 18-4, including a 9-0 run.

Zach Randolph recorded 15 of his 19 points and 8 of his 10 rebounds in the first half. It is Randolph’s 35th double-double this season.

Game highlights

Larry Krystkowiak

(On the defensive effort of Ramon Sessions tonight…)
“It was tremendous. He’s been doing that consistently when he’s given an opportunity. He has taken one of the tougher players to guard on the other team and he does a nice job. He brings us a lot of effort on the defensive end of the floor and I thought he did a good job running the ball club, too, offensively.”

(On tonight’s game…)
“I thought there were two points in the game, the kind of moments of truth where we could have folded. One of them was when we kind of chipped back into that lead in the fourth quarter and then with about five minutes to go at a timeout we got ourselves back down nine and lost the momentum. I thought that was an opportunity for us to maybe fold out tent, but guys kept coming and making shots. Ramon (Sessions) had a couple of big free throws to tie that ballgame up late, which is a really good time. In overtime we came out pretty focused and Bobby Simmons stepped up in a big way on both ends, offensively and defensively. He and Ramon I thought were two of the keys to the game.”

(On having Andrew Bogut back...)
“It’s huge. He’s kind of the heart of our team in the back. He’s got a pulse on everything all the time. He just makes a lot of good plays on both ends of the floor. I was really proud of him tonight with that situation that he’s in the midst of (nose injury). He wants to play and he wants to continue to improve. He’s a warrior.”

Bobby Simmons

(On tonight’s game…)
“It was a great commitment from the guys, completing the game from start to finish. We did a great job as far as sharing the ball. Everybody was playing together and we came out with a big win.”

(On his clutch shooting in the fourth quarter and overtime…)
“I live for these situations. Guys were looking for me and I’m capable of making those shots. I was open so I took them.”

Ramon Sessions

(On playing a significant role in tonight’s victory…)
“I believe it was like 34 minutes, and that’s a career-high for me playing that many minutes. It was a great feeling being out there with the guys having fun and being able to get a win, something we haven’t been able to get in a while. It was a great feeling.”

(On the momentum heading into overtime…)
“The guys kept me up, even though I was down a little bit after the foul (that sent the game to overtime) because I felt like I should have just let him shoot it. The guys kept me up and we stayed in to it and got the win.”
