Bucks Team With Wendy’s For Take Over Lunch
Acrobatic stunts. Gravity-defying dunks. Fast food order specialist? Thanks to Bucks Tipoff Week festivities, Bango can now add a new talent to his resume, as he and members of the Bucks entertainment team took part in the Wendy’s Take Over Lunch on Wednesday.
Teaming with corporate sponsor Wendy’s, the Bucks and 53 southeastern Wisconsin restaurants provided lunch customers with a $20 Bucks ticket voucher to be used toward select home games in November and December, including Saturday’s home opener.
At 10 locations, Bango and members of the Hoop Troop and Energee! Dance teams also greeted customers, interacted with employees and offered prizes of Bucks tickets and merchandise.
“At Wendy’s we love it, because anything we can do to help the community and get people involved is great,” Wendy’s district manager Jim Gaulke said. “For us to be involved with the Milwaukee Bucks is a great thing. It’s a great partnership, and it’s something that we do every year.”
Having already surprised customers at the downtown Metro Market and taken part in the MMAC Bucks Preview Luncheon, sponsored by the SURG Restaurant Group at the Intercontinental Hotel, the Wendy’s Take Over Lunch was just one more stop on the Bucks Tipoff Week slate. The organization will host a jersey scavenger hunt through Twitter (@Bucks) tomorrow, before partnering with Palermo’s Pizza to serve dinner to nearly 400 guests at St. Vincent de Paul Society Meal Ministry. Friday, fans are invited to a free pizza lunch, also provided by Palermo’s Pizza, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, and to an opening night viewing party at Replay Sports Bar at 6 p.m.
The Bucks will open their 2012-13 schedule in Boston on Nov. 2, before returning to the BMO Harris Bradley Center for their home opener against Cleveland Nov. 3.
