The 46th season of pro basketball in Milwaukee has arrived, and the Bucks are giving fans plenty of new reasons to come out to the BMO Harris Bradley Center this season. After a busy summer of change, the Bucks’ many new additions will take center stage this Saturday, November 2nd when they host the Toronto Raptors at 7:30 p.m. Everywhere fans look they’re likely to see something new, including the brand-new, limited-edition Opening Night T-shirts that every fan in attendance will find on their seat when they arrive.
One exciting new item that unexpectedly will not be part of the season tip-off is the Bucks’ critically-acclaimed new court design. Bucks and NBA officials have determined that an unforeseeable combination of environmental factors reacting with the court’s new surface were the root cause of the traction issues that led to the cancellation of last Friday’s pre-season game. This problem did not manifest itself during the first two pre-season performances on the court, and there is no certainty that the conditions that caused the problems would occur again in the future. However, out of an abundance of caution and an unyielding commitment to player safety, the Bucks and league officials have agreed that the appropriate course of action is to have the new court completely resurfaced and refinished, a process that is expected to take 2-3 weeks.
At this time there is no definitive date upon which the new court will be completed. However, fans can guarantee that they are there for the big event when the distinctive new court makes its regular season debut by purchasing a “New Floor Guaranteed” ticket for the Bucks home opener. Fans who purchase a “New Floor Guaranteed” ticket, available in select locations, for the home opener on November 2nd will receive a ticket for every subsequent game, up to and including the debut of the new court.
