44 Jogadores Internacionais, Incluindo Um Recorde de Nove Latinos, nos NBA Playoffs

No próximo dia 22 de abril, quando se iniciarão os NBA Playoffs 2006, as equipes participantes contarão com um recorde de 44 jogadores internacionais de 25 países e territórios diferentes, incluindo um recorde de nove jogadores latinos. Quase todas as equipes participantes nesta pós-temporada terão ao menos um jogador estrangeiro na sua lista de jogadores. O número de representantes internacionais é praticamente o dobro do ano anterior, quando 24 jogadores de 18 países estiveram em ação.


“Ademais do recorde no número de Latinos na história da liga, os nossos jogadores são integrantes de algumas das melhores equipes da NBA”, disse Arturo Nuñez, Vice-presidente e Diretor Geral da NBA América Latina e do mercado Hispano dos E.U.A. “Estamos muito felizes dos desempenhos dos nossos jogadores e pela grande contribuição que cada um deles dá a sua respectiva equipe”.

Os Playoffs contarão com 17 jogadores internacionais na Conferência do Leste e 27 no Oeste. O San Antonio Spurs é a equipe mais internacional da NBA com um recorde de sete jogadores. No final da temporada regular 2005-06, a NBA contou com 82 jogadores internacionais de 38 países (ativos e inativos).
