O Ben Gordon do Chicago Bulls e o Kobe Bryant do Los Angeles Lakers foram selecionados os Jogadores da Semana na Conferência do Leste e Oeste, respectivamente, pelos jogos disputados entre os dias 10 ao 16 de abril.

O Gordon teve uma média de 26,3 pontos liderando os Bulls a uma semana com um balance de 4-0 e uma classificação nos playoffs. Numa vitória por 103-101 contra os Wizards no dia 14 de abril, o Gordon fez 9 cestas em 9 tentativas de longo alcance, empatando o recorde da NBA para arremessos de três-pontos feito num único jogo sem tentativas falhadas (Latrell Sprewell, dia 4 de fevereiro de 2003).

Atrás do recorde da liga do Bryant de 41,3 pontos em 0,487 arremessos, 6,0 rebotes, 3,7 assistências e 3,33 roubos de bola por jogo, os Lakers tiveram uma semana de 3-0 e também conseguiram uma classificação nos playoffs. Numa vitória contra Portland no dia 14 de abril, o Bryant marcou 50 pontos (17 arremessos feitos em 28 tentados) superando o recorde de mais pontos feitos numa temporada de 2.719 pontos estabelecido durante a temporada de 1962-63 pelo Elgin Baylor.
