Depois de estar lesionado em sua primeira temporada na NBA, Raúl López vive a temporada de 2003-04 intensamente. Ele já disputou mais de 50 partidas com o Utah Jazz e suas médias o colocam entre os novatos com melhor rendimento na liga. Confira esta entrevista com esta estrela espanhola.

Como você se sente em sua primeira temporada ativa na NBA?
López: Estou muito feliz. Mais feliz porque esta temporada ainda falta muito para terminar. Estou feliz porque logo depois de minhas lesões voltei a jogar bem. Como qualquer outra pessoa, ainda tenho os meus dias bons e ruins, mas estou muito feliz em geral.

Você acha que pode ser titular da equipe?
López: Não acho que nesta temporada seja o momento certo. Está claro que todos querem jogar a maior quantidade de minutos possíveis, mas agora o Carlos é a nossa base. Eu estou tratando de fazer o melhor trabalho possível para que no futuro seja o momento certo para mim.

E para a próxima temporada?
López: Não sei, acho que ainda tenho muito tempo para chegar lá.

Sua vida mudou muito nos dois últimos anos?
López: Tem passado muito tempo mesmo. Acho que as lesões me fizeram ver a vida de outra maneira, então sim… sou um outro jogador.

Quais foram as lições que você aprendeu?
López: Tentar desfrutar mais o dia-a-dia. Aprendi que te faz muita falta quando você não pode jogar basquete por causa de uma lesão. Então, aprendi a desfrutar todos os dias que estou aqui.

O que mais te impressionou na NBA?
López: O ritmo das partidas. Como tem muitos jogadores talentosos, aqui se joga intensamente.

O que é que você mais gosta na NBA?
López: Mesmo que parece contraditório, tenho que dizer que é jogar partidas. É o que eu mais gosto. Mesmo que as vezes me cansa muito.

O que você não gosta?
López: Não sei o que dizer, pois gosto de tudo.

Como você vê o seu futuro na equipe e/ou na liga?
López: No momento estou me concentrando no dia-a-dia. Hoje estou na equipe de Utah, tenho um ano mais de contrato e o mais importante para mim é continuar jogando basquete. Daqui a um ano, espero estar igual como agora… gostando muito de jogar basquete e da vida.

O que você acha dos jogadores internacionais na liga?
López: Penso que o nível dos jogadores internacionais na liga é alto e isto é muito bom porque nos tratam com um pouco mais de respeito.
