OS HORNETS VOLTARÃO A OKLAHOMA CITY NA TEMPORADA 2006-07

O David Stern, comissionado da NBA anunciou que o New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets voltarão ao Ford Center de Oklahoma City para jogar 35 jogos em casa durante a temporada de 2006-07. Os Hornets disputarão seis partidas de temporada regular na arena de New Orleans.

“Enquanto a NBA e os Hornets mantêm o seu compromisso de voltar a New Orleans, temos feito um acordo com Louisiana e os diretores da SMG para jogarmos uma parte da temporada de 2006-07 em Oklahoma City”, comentou o Stern. “Mesmo assim esperamos que a equipe esteja na posição de voltar a New Orleans definitivamente para a temporada de 2007-08”.

Ademais, o Stern anunciou que a liga se encontra negociando com oficiais da cidade e do estado de Louisiana para que o Jogo das Estrelas de 2008 se realize em New Orleans.

“Por tudo o que temos visto e escutado temos algumas dúvidas de que New Orleans possa logo ser a cidade anfitriã de eventos esportivos de primeira categoria”, disse Stern. “Temos conversado com o Governador Blanco sobre a possibilidade de levar um dos nossos maiores eventos, como o é o Jogo das Estrelas, para esta cidade em 2008”.

Assim mesmo, o Stern disse que em janeiro de 2007, a cidade de New Orleans será a sede de vários seminários e reuniões da NBA, onde se reúnem executivos e oficiais das equipes da NBA.
