Equipes da NBA

Novas divisões estão em ordem enguanto as 30 equipes da NBA estréiam na temporada de 2004-05. Estas 30 equipes são divididas em duas conferências, e cada conferência tem 15 equipes com três divisões de cinco equipes. Então saiba o que faz cada uma destas equipes especial e diferente uma da outra.

A Conferência do Leste consiste na Divisão Atlântica (Boston, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto); Divisão Central (Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Indiana, Milwaukee); e Divisão Sudeste (Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Orlando, Washington).

A Conferência do Oeste consiste na Divisão Noroeste (Denver, Minnesota, Portland, Seattle, Utah); Divisão Pacífica (Golden State, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix, Sacramento); e Divisão Sudoeste (Dallas, Houston, Memphis, New Orleans, San Antonio).

Cada vencedor de divisão ganha um dos três lugares da conferência no playoffs. As oito equipes restantes de cada conferência no playoff são determinadas pelos melhores recordes totais (vantagem de quadra (casa) em cada rodada do playoff é determinada via o melhor recorde total).
