Os demais membros deste grupo são Kobe Bryant (Los Ángeles Lakers), LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers), Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks) e Shaquille O'Neal (Miami Heat), quem ocupa a posição de pivô nesta equipe.

O Nash, quem foi escolhido para a Equipe Ideal pelo segundo ano consecutivo, conseguiu a média mais alta da sua carreira na NBA em pontos (18.8), rebotes (4.2), minutos (35.5), porcentagem anotadora (.512) e porcentagem de lance livre (.921), ademais de ter a média mais alta da liga em assistências (10.5 por jogo). A sua média teve um aumento de 3.3 pontos por jogo em comparação a temporada anterior, o segundo melhor registro depois de haver ganhado o prêmio de MVP, recorde que mandem o Larry Bird e quem teve um aumento de 4.5 pontos por jogo na temporada de 1984-85.

A Segunda Equipe Ideal da NBA está integrada pelo Chauncey Billups (Detroit Pistons), Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat), Tim Duncan (San Antonio Spurs), Elton Brand (L.A. Clippers) e Ben Wallace (Detroit Pistons), na posição de pivô.

Na Terceira Equipe Ideal, estão: Allen Iverson (Philadelphia 76ers), Gilbert Arenas (Washington Wizards), Shawn Marion (Phoenix Suns), Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets) e Yao Ming (Houston Rockets).

A votação se realizou entre um painel de 126 jornalistas que cobrem as 30 equipes da NBA nos Estados Unidos e Canadá. Os representantes da imprensa entregaram cinco pontos para os integrantes da primeira equipe, três pela segunda e um pela terceira.
