A nova série da NBA TV ‘Toyota’s Moving Forward Moments’ (Momentos Toyota Avança A Frente) acompanhará o Amare Stoudemire, a estrela do Phoenix Suns, que se uniu com a Toyota para doar 10 automóveis híbridos ‘Toyota Prius’ para vários residentes no estado de Louisiana que foram afetados pelo Furacão Katrina. Este especial irá ao ar no dia 28 de março ás 6 da tarde (Horário do Leste nos Estados Unidos).

“Isso te deixa sem palavras”, comentou Stoudemire, quem conduziu um dos automóveis pela zona que foi afetada por este fenômeno natural. “Quando você vê de perto é muito difícil de assimilar. Não é uma área específica, e sim toda a cidade. É como se todo o estado houvesse sido pego por este fenômeno”.

Nesta oportunidade, o Stoudemire visita 10 mulheres que são líderes reconhecidas das suas comunidades e que perderam praticamente tudo neste furacão. A figura dos Suns visitou os lares dessas vítimas para pessoalmente entregar os veículos e ajudar, de alguma forma, que elas e suas famílias possam voltar as suas vidas normais.

Em anteriores episódios desta série, outros jogadores já entregaram veículos aos seus mentores ou pessoas que lhes ajudaram em suas carreiras: Richard Jefferson (New Jersey Nets) voltou a Phoenix (Arizona), Elton Brand (L.A. Clippers) visitou Peekskill (New York), T.J. Ford (Milwaukee Bucks) esteve em Houston (Texas) e Chris Paul (New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets) apresentou um veículo para a fundação filantrópica em Wiston Salem (North Carolina) criada em nome do seu avô e mentor que foi assassinado quando o Chris ainda estava na escola secundaria.
