A NBA aprovou a compra do Cleveland Cavaliers, equipe onde o jogador brasileiro Anderson Varejão joga atualmente, por parte do grupo de investidores liderado pelo Dan Gilbert, acionista e fundador do Quick Loans.

Os 30 proprietários de equipes NBA aprovaram a compra, e desta maneira o Gilbert se converte no quarto dono dos Cavs nos 35 anos de história que tem a equipe.

Ademais do Gilbert, o novo grupo inclui o David Katzman (Vice-presidente do Quicken Loans e Sócio Diretivo do Camelot Ventures) e o Usher Raymond IV (cantor ganhador de vários prêmios Grammy).

"Temos uma responsabilidade com os fãs e a forma de responder é ganhar. Continuaremos trabalhando e tentaremos trazer um campeonato para Cleveland”, comentou o Gilbert.

“Estou emocionado de ser parte deste grupo e desta equipe. Estarei muito envolvido com os Cavs em vários níveis, especialmente na parte de treinamento durante as partidas e trabalhos com a comunidade. Penso dedicar muito tempo aos Cavaliers, e a Cleveland será agora o meu segundo lar”, disse o Usher
