Os gerentes gerais das equipes da NBA selecionaram o Steve Nash do Phoenix Suns para ganhar o seu segundo consecutivo prêmio de Jogador Mais Valioso da liga (MVP - por suas siglas em inglês), e em segundo lugar ficou o seu ex-companheiro de equipe Dirk Nowitzki do Dallas Mavericks, de acordo com os resultados da pesquisa da NBA.com pelos Prêmios dos Gerentes Gerais de 2006 (2006 NBA.com GM Awards Survey). Começando hoje, os resultados da pesquisa serão colocados diariamente na NBA.com.

Na pesquisa exclusiva, o Nash recebeu seis votos de primeiro-lugar, 11 votos de segundo-lugar e três votos de terceiro-lugar para um total de 65 pontos. Cinco pontos foram concedidos para votos de primeiro-lugar, três para segundo-lugar e um para terceiro-lugar.

O Nowitzki, quem empatou com o Nash com seis votos de primeiro-lugar, também recebeu três votos de segundo-lugar e seis votos de terceiro-lugar para um total de 45 pontos. O Chauncey Billups do Detroit Pistons acabou em terceiro com 32 pontos e o LeBron James do Cleveland Cavaliers ficou em quarto com 31 pontos de acordo com a votação dos GGs.

Na quarta anual pesquisa da NBA.com dos Gerentes Gerais (NBA.com GM Survey), distribuído no começo da temporada da NBA de 2005-06, quase 60 por cento dos GGs predisseram que o Tim Duncan do San Antonio Spurs ganharia o MVP de 2006 com nenhum dos GGs da liga selecionando o Nash para repetir a vitória.

Na pesquisa mais recente, os GGs indicaram que o Chris Paul do New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets ganharia o Prêmio de Novato do Ano da NBA. O Paul recebeu 24 votos de primeiro-lugar e dois votos de segundo-lugar para um total de 126 pontos. O Charlie Villanueva do Toronto Raptors ficou em segundo com 44 pontos e o Andrew Bogut do Milwaukee Bucks ficou em terceiro com 27 pontos.
