FSN South and SportSouth will televise 70
games including the Bobcats season opener in Cleveland. |

The Charlotte Bobcats and FSN South, in its first year as the Bobcats’ regional television partner, today announced their 2008-09 television schedule. FSN South and its sister network SportSouth will televise a combined 70 games, 39 on FSN South and 31 on SportSouth. Regular-season coverage begins Thursday, October 30 at 7 p.m. ET on SportSouth when the Bobcats visit the Cleveland Cavaliers in the regular season opener. The networks will also televise two preseason contests; October 8 against the Orland Magic at 7 p.m. ET on FSN South and October 18 against the Atlanta Hawks at 7 p.m. ET on SportSouth. FSN South and SportSouth’s coverage of the Bobcats features 31 home games, 39 road games and 17 games against Southeast Division rivals. For all 70 game telecasts, Charlotte Bobcats’ play-by-play announcer Steve Martin will be joined by analyst Henry Williams and courtside reporter Stephanie Ready.
“The addition of the Charlotte Bobcats to FSN South’s lineup of Carolina-based professional and collegiate sports solidifies our network’s position as the local sports destination for sports fans throughout North Carolina and South Carolina,” said Jeff Genthner, senior vice president and general manager of FSN South and SportSouth. “Our commitment to the Bobcats will go far beyond simply televising games. We will provide fans with an expansive presentation of Bobcats’ programming including pre- and post-game coverage on Bobcats LIVE and original programs that showcase Bobcats’ players and coaches and offer an all-access, behind-the-scenes look at the team.”
Hosted on site by Martin and Williams, Bobcats LIVE pre- and post-game shows will complement game coverage. The 30-minute programs will be televised before and after all 70 game telecasts and feature highlights, player profiles and first-year Head Coach Larry Brown’s post-game press conference, as well as perspective and analysis on the game.
