Morrison Named Top Rookie in November

Bobcats guard Adam Morrison was named NBA Eastern Conference T-Mobile Rookie of the Month on Friday, December 1 for games played in November.

The third overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, Morrison averaged 15.3 points, 2.1 assists and 35.6 minutes in 15 games - including 10 starts - and ranks first among NBA rookies in scoring and minutes played, and second in three-point shooting (.375).

Morrison is the third Bobcats player in franchise history to win NBA Rookie of the Month honors, joining Raymond Felton, who won the award three times last season and Emeka Okafor, who won the award three times in 2004-05 before capturing Rookie of the Year honors.

The 6-8, 205-pound guard posted a NBA single-game rookie scoring high of 27 points twice in the month of November - at San Antonio on November 15 and against Miami on November 25.

He has also posted four other 20-plus scoring games against Memphis, New Orleans/Oklahoma City, Boston and New Jersey. In addition, he reached double-figure scoring in 11 of the 15 games he played.

His four double-figure scoring games to begin his career stands as a Bobcats record.
