Bobcats Present Harris Teeter Milk Challenge
January 30, 2006

The Bobcats have partnered with Harris Teeter to present Charlotte-area elementary and middle schools with an added bonus for participating in the Harris Teeter Milk Challenge contest.

During the month of February, the school that redeems the most Harris Teeter or Hunter Farms half-gallon or gallon milk carton caps will receive a school pep rally with a Bobcats player, Rufus and the Rally Cat cheerleaders, a $500 donation from the Bobcats to the winning school’s library as part of the NBA’s Read to Achieve Program and a $500 donation from the Southeast United Dairy Industry Association for cafeteria equipment. The winning school will also be represented at an upcoming Bobcats’ game for the check presentation.

“One of the Bobcats Charitable Foundation’s focuses is on children’s health and wellness and with this initiative, we are promoting a healthy lifestyle and allowing children to raise money for their schools and win a personal experience with the Bobcats,” said Bobcats President and Chief Operating Officer Ed Tapscott. “We are pleased to be able to help Harris Teeter promote this contest and excited about the opportunity to give back to a local school as well.”

The contest is open to all elementary and middle schools in the Charlotte ADI, which includes Cabarrus, Catawba, Gaston, Iredell, Lancaster, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Union and York counties, who are currently participating in the Harris Teeter Milk Challenge contest. Official rules for the contest are available on www.harristeeter.com.
