Felton Wins Third Straight NBA Eastern Conference T-Mobile Rookie Of The Month

The Bobcats four-game winning streak wasn't the only streak going for Charlotte as the 2005-06 regular season ended. Bobcats guard Raymond Felton was named NBA Eastern Conference T-Mobile Rookie of the Month for the third consecutive time for games played in April after taking home the honor in February and March.

The fifth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, Felton averaged 17.2 points, 9.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 3.1 rebounds in nine games. He led all rookies in scoring and assists for the month in helping the Bobcats to a franchise-best 6-3 record in April.

Felton is the first Bobcats player in franchise history to win NBA Rookie of the Month honors three consecutive months. Last year's Rookie of the Year Emeka Okafor, who won the award in November and December last season, also captured the honor in April.

The 6-1, 198-pound guard also posted four points/assists double-doubles that included his 16-point and career-high 14-assist effort at New York on April 17. Felton also scored 14-plus points eight times, with three 20-plus points games.

Felton finished the 2005-06 season ranked fourth among NBA rookies in scoring with 11.9 points, second with 5.6 assists and second with 1.28 steals. He is also one of only two rookies to rank in the top five in all three categories and posted the highest scoring average of any rookie since February 1 this season.
