Comporium Cable To Air Games In South Carolina

The Bobcats have reached an agreement with Comporium Communications to telecast 50 Bobcats games on Comporium systems in York, Lancaster, Chester and Fairfield Counties in South Carolina. The games will air on Tri-County 14, a channel programmed by Comporium with local sports, political and community affairs content and is available as part of Comporium’s basic cable service.

“We are extremely pleased to offer these 50 Bobcats games on Tri-County 14 to all of our cable TV customers,” said Glenn McFadden, Comporium’s executive vice president of operations. “This complements our goal of providing exclusive, local content to our customers.”

“Adding the Comporium systems to the cable distribution of Bobcats games is another step towards our objective of delivering our games to as many fans in the region as possible,” said Ed Tapscott, president and COO of the Charlotte Bobcats Organization. “We continue to seek carriage partnerships throughout the Carolinas and encourage viewers to contact their local cable operators about how their systems can carry Bobcats games too.”

A total of 65 Bobcats games will be telecast during 2005-06 season, including 15 over-the-air games on the team’s over-the-air flagship, WJZY UPN46 and throughout North and South Carolina on the Bobcats Television Network.
