THE RESULT
The Bobcats (7-57) were hoping the return of D.J. Augustin and Reggie Williams would provide the team with the spark it needed. Unfortunately the Wizards (18-46) had other plans, getting off to a fast start as they ran away with the 101-73 victory over the Bobcats on April 23 at the Verizon Center.

TURNING POINTS
A Gerald Henderson basket with 2:17 left in the first quarter gave the Bobcats a 22-21 lead, but the Wizards responded with a 16-0 run to take a 37-22 lead… They continued to pull away from the Bobcats, taking a 63-39 lead into the intermission… In the second half, the Bobcats were only able to get as close as 18, before the Wizards went on an 18-8 run to finish the game and give them the 28-point victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Washington had a great night from the field, hitting 55.4 percent (46 of 83) of their shots… The Bobcats were only able to hit 34.2 percent (25 of 73)… The Wizards distributed the ball well, finishing the game with 28 assists, 14 of which came from John Wall… Both teams were careless with the ball, with the Bobcats turning it over 22 times while Washington turned it over 18 times… The Wizards won the battle on the glass, outrebounding Charlotte, 45-35.

A day after Metta World Peace was ejected for an errant elbow against Oklahoma City, Tyrus Thomas was tossed after elbowing James Singleton when he was trying to get space inside.
