Recap: Wizards Cast Spell on Bobcats

TURNING POINTS
The Wizards were able to get out to a quick start, taking a 31-20 lead after the first quarter… Cartier Martin came to life in the second quarter, scoring 13 points in the period to help the Wizards extend the lead to 60-40 at the intermission… In the second half, the Wizards extended the lead to 30 points, and never allowed the Bobcats to get back in the game.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Wizards shot the ball extremely well from the field, hitting 48.2 percent (40 of 83), while the Bobcats were only able to connect on 39 percent (32 of 82)… The Wizards were able a big night from their reserves, outscoring the Bobcats bench 67-41… Washington did a great job of passing the ball, finishing with 28 assists, 12 of them from John Wall… Charlotte was able to attack the rim and get to the free throw line, where they hit 81.8 percent (18 of 22)

BOBCATS PLAYER OF THE GAME
Corey Maggette played well, scoring 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting.

Kemba Walker had a strong floor game for the Bobcats, finishing with 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

WIZARDS PLAYER OF THE GAME
Cartier Martin continued to take advantage of a 10-day contract, scoring 19 points to go along with six rebounds.

GAME NOTES
Gerald Henderson (12) was the only other Bobcats player to reach double figures in scoring… D.J. Augustin (knee) and Reggie Williams (knee) were unable to go in the game… Bobcats Assistant Coach Stephen Silas filled in for Head Coach Paul Silas as the man in charge… Kemba Walker continues to handle the pressure as a rookie point guard, finishing with a positive assist-to-turnover ratio for the 29th straight game.
