THE RESULT
The Bobcats started off strong on the road and went into halftime with a two-point lead, but could not close out the game in a 96-88 loss to the Indiana Pacers on January 12 in Indiana. Ben Gordon finished with 21 points, scoring in double figures for his ninth-straight game.

TURNING POINTS
This game was up for grabs heading into the fourth quarter… With five minutes left to play, Lance Stephenson converted on a slam-dunk, leading to a 7-0 run by the Indiana Pacers… George Hill sank a 3-pointer with 2:43 to play to put the Pacers up by nine. From that point, Kemba Walker grabbed a steal and nailed four free throws, while Hakim Warrick added two buckets, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Bobcats struggled to stop the Pacers from the behind the arc, allowing them to go 11-for-28 from long range. The inside game was also an issue tonight as the Pacers outrebounded the Cats, 48-38, and outscored the Cats in the paint, 38-26. For the second-straight game, the Cats gave up at least 17 offensive rebounds, which led to 19 second-chance points for the Pacers… The Bobcats were efficient on the offensive end shooting 46.2 percent and outscoring the Pacers in fast-break points, 18-8. The Cats took advantage of the charity stripe, where they went 13-for-16.

David West lead the Pacers to their fourth straight win, recording his first triple-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and one steal.

GAME NOTES
Coach Mike Dunlap opted for a different starting lineup tonight than the previous game, going with Kemba Walker, Gerald Henderson, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Hakim Warrick and Bismack Biyombo… Ramon Sessions had a productive game coming off the bench scoring seven points, grabbing two rebounds, dishing out six assists and one steal… The Bobcats finished with four players scoring double figures, including Ben Gordon (21 points), Kemba Walker (16), Hakim Warrick (13) and Gerald Henderson (12)… Byron Mullens (ankle) was inactive and the Pacers leading scorer, Paul George, was sidelined due to the flu.
