Vemma, together with the Charlotte Bobcats, hosted a Reading with Rufus event on August 12 at the University City YMCA as part of its ongoing sponsorship of the NBA team. The Reading with Rufus Program, featuring team mascot Rufus Lynx, stresses to students the importance of reading, in a fun, entertaining format. Reading with Rufus is a 30-minute, interactive program geared toward elementary-age children.
Approximately 200 second- to fifth-grade students enrolled in the University City YMCA day camp gathered to hear from forward Derrick Brown, the Lady Cats and members of the Charlotte Bobcats staff and listen to a story. The rambunctious feline known as Rufus also performed and gave a testimony to the importance of reading every day.
Children in attendance also received gift bags, including Charlotte Bobcats memorabilia, as well as a Vemma NEXT™-branded reusable lunch bag and the ultra-premium children's nutritional supplement, Vemma NEXT, ideal for children 2 to 12. It includes a full ounce of the Vemma formula, along with an enhanced nutrient blend unique to children's nutritional needs.
