The Bobcats will face the Magic twice

The Charlotte Bobcats today unveiled their preseason schedule in preparation for the 2008-09 season. The eight-game slate begins on Wednesday, October 8, at Orlando and features two games at Time Warner Cable Arena, October 16 versus Orlando and October 18 versus Atlanta.
The Bobcats will host their annual Cool School Field Trip and Read to Achieve Celebration with a 10:30 am tipoff against Orlando on October 16. In order to attend the game, eighth grade students must demonstrate strong academic performance, character and service, write an essay on character development and have no absences or suspensions from the beginning of the school year. Gameday activities will include curriculum-based character-development sessions with a focus on literacy, problem-solving activities, motivational messages from the Bobcats coaching staff, interactive competitions and teacher recognition.
The Bobcats also announced today that the team will return to Wilmington for its 2008-09 training camp, September 30-October 6. All practices, meetings and work-out sessions will be held at Trask Coliseum on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, marking the fourth consecutive year the Bobcats have trained at the school.
