Acquired by the Bobcats from Dallas with Matt Carroll and Erick Dampier on July 13, 2010, in exchange for Tyson Chandler and Alexis Ajinca… In 566 career games (85 starts) with Dallas, Golden State, Denver and New Jersey, has career averages of 5.2 points and 3.9 rebounds in 18.7 minutes per game… Was the second Mexican-born player to appear in an NBA game (Horacio Llamas, PHO, 1996-97)… Initially selected by Houston with the 38th overall pick of the 2000 NBA Draft before having his draft rights traded along with a future second-round pick to Dallas in exchange for the rights to Dan Langhi… Traded by Dallas along with Christian Laettner, the rights to Mladen Sekularac, two future first round picks and cash considerations to Golden State in exchange for Erick Dampier, Evan Eschmeyer, Dan Dickau and the rights to Steve Logan on August 2, 2004… Traded by Golden State along with Luis Flores to Denver in exchange for Nikoloz Tskitishvili and Rodney White on February 24, 2005… Signed with New Jersey as a free agent on July 16, 2008… Traded from New Jersey to Dallas in exchange for Kris Humphries and Shawne Williams on January 11, 2010.

Last name pronounced Na-he-RAH… Full name is Eduardo Alonso Najera… The son of Servando Najera and Rosa Irene Perez… He and his wife, Jennifer, have a daughter and two sons…. In 2004, launched the Eduardo Najera Foundation for Latin Achievement in order to help less privileged children receive a college education… Took part in the first-ever Basketball without Borders Americas Tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2004… Since joining the NBA, has held more than 30 basketball clinics throughout Mexico, organizing events in several states including Monterrey, Mexico City, Guadalajara and Chiapas… Along with the NBA, the US Fund for UNICEF and Pier 1, hosted a fundraising event for children of war-torn Afghanistan.
