Acquired by the Bobcats on Jan. 16, 2009, in exchange for Matt Carroll and Ryan Hollins… Has played in 536 career games for Cleveland, Dallas, New Jersey and Charlotte, with career averages of 2.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks… In 28 playoff games, has averaged 2.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 19.5 minutes per game… Initially selected by Cleveland with the eighth overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft… Signed by Dallas as a free agent in August 2005… Traded by Dallas to New Jersey on Feb. 19, 2008, with Devin Harris, Trenton Hassell, Keith Van Horn, Maurice Ager and two firstround draft picks in exchange for Jason Kidd, Malik Allen and Antoine Wright… Re-signed with the Mavericks as a free agent in July 2008.

Full name is DeSagana N’gagne Diop… Name ia pronounced sa-GAH-na JOP… Goes by “Gana”… The son of Rama N’diaye and Souleymane Diop… Has three siblings, Code’, Mamadou and N’Doumbe’… Played for the Senegalese national team during the 2009 FIBA Africa Championship… Has participated in the NBA’s “Basketball Without Borders” Program in Africa… Didn’t start playing basketball until he was 15… Can speak English, Wolof, French, Arabic and some Spanish… Lists his mother as the person he admires most and his father as his greatest influence.
