Resting their starters late in the 2013 NBA Summer League finally caught up to the Cats as they were knocked out of the tournament with a 75-67 semifinal loss to the No. 1 seeded Golden State Warriors on July 21 in Las Vegas. With Michael Kidd-Gilchrist out for his third-straight game, Jeffery Taylor, Bismack Biyombo and Cody Zeller missing their second-consecutive contest and Patrick Ewing Jr. sitting for the first time, Charlotte's reserves put forth a valiant effort led by Brandon Triche and Troy Daniels with 13 points apiece in the loss.
The Warriors had multiple chances to try and put the Cats away, but Charlotte would not go down easy. The Cats fell behind 19-13 after one stanza while shooting just 25.0 percent (4-for-16) from the field. They kept themselves in the game at the charity stripe, connecting on 71.4 percent (5-for-7) of their freebies… Seven first-half points apiece from Brandon Triche and Deron Washington weren't enough to fix the Cats first-half shooting woes. Charlotte connected on just 32.1 percent (10-for-32) to the Warriors 42.1 percent (16-for-38) and was outshot 7-2 from behind the arc in the first 20 minutes of action… Golden State appeared to have things in control, holding their 12-point halftime lead late into the third quarter, but again the Cats would respond. Trailing 51-31, Charlotte rattled off a 10-0 run to cut the lead to 51-49. Draymond Green's late basket to close the quarter pushed the Warriors advantage to 58-53 heading to the fourth and the Cats couldn't make a final push on the way to the loss.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Despite starting 1-for-11 (9.1 percent) from the field the Cats still held a 6-5 lead midway through the first quarter by getting to the free-throw line and hitting 80.0 percent (4-for-5) of their free throws. Unfortunately for the Bobcats, their shooting woes would continue throughout as they finished shooting 35.1percent (20-for-57) from the field to the Warriors 37.8 percent (28-for-74)… Turnovers also told the story, with the Cats coughing it up 20 times to Golden State's 13… The Warriors did a better job sharing the ball with 16 assists on 28 baskets, while the Bobcats had seven dimes on 20 buckets.

The Cats dressed just eight players, with Jeffery Taylor, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Bismack Biyombo, Cody Zeller and Patrick Ewing Jr. all sitting… Deron Washington got his first start for the Cats in Vegas and finished with 12 points while going 10-for-13 from the charity stripe… Jerome Dyson rounded out Charlotte's double-digit scorers with 10 points to go with six rebounds and two steals… The Cats finish the 2013 NBA Summer League at 4-2 overall, while the Warriors move to 6-0 and have won 13-consecutive summer league games.
