The Bobcats have activated forward Theron Smith from the injured list and placed forward Tamar Slay on the injured list with a left foot injury.

Smith has been on the injured list the entire regular season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on November 8. The 6-8, 230-pound forward played in three preseason games and averaged 7.3 points and 5.0 rebounds in 15.0 minutes. He scored a team-high 16 points with nine rebounds against Miami on October 26.

A second-year player, Smith was chosen by Charlotte in the Expansion Selection on June 22, after he played his rookie season in Memphis last year. With the Grizzlies, he played more than any other rookie, even after missing 53 games on the injured list with right knee tendinitis. Smith played 20 games and averaged 2.2 points and 2.1 rebounds in 8.9 minutes.

Slay played in eight games this season and averaged 3.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 9.8 minutes. The 6-8, 220-pounder posted season highs with nine points and five rebounds against Golden State on Nov. 13. Slay was previously placed on the injured list on Nov. 15 with a left foot injury.
