Okafor Donates $10,000 To Tsunami Relief Effort

Bobcats forward Emeka Okafor has pledged $10,000 to UNICEF in support of the relief efforts for victims of the recent Tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia and parts of Africa.

"After witnessing the devastation caused by the Tsunami, I wanted to assist in the relief effort," Okafor said. "I hope that my donation will help aid the victims of this tragedy."

The Bobcats have collected donations from fans at their last four home games and will continue the collection this Friday when the Bobcats play Memphis at 7:00 p.m. at the Charlotte Coliseum.

Additionally, WJZY UPN46 is assisting the Bobcats’ collection efforts by running promotional spots to inform the Charlotte community of contribution options.

Fans not attending Friday night’s game, but wishing to make a contribution can do so by sending their donation to:
