The Bobcats selected their first-ever dance team on June 11 in front of hundreds of spectators at Founders Hall in Uptown Charlotte. The 16-member squad will perform at all Bobcats home games, including preseason and postseason contests during the 2004-05 inaugural season. Dance team members will also represent the organization at various community and promotional events throughout the year.

“Selecting the dance team was an extremely tough decision and I feel that we have chosen a group that will represent our organization well both on and off the court,” said Bobcats Game Operations Coordinator Yaa Obeng. “If our audition process was any indication of the type of enthusiasm demonstrated in the Charlotte area, fans will be in for a treat when they see these dancers perform.”

A group of 30 finalists, narrowed from a field of over 200 applicants, survived eight hours of dance routines and three elimination rounds on Saturday, June 5 at Charlotte Coliseum to reach today’s event.

The 2004-05 Charlotte Bobcats Dance Team members include: RaShawn (Monroe, N.C.), Shannon (Huntersville, N.C.), Natasha (Charlotte, N.C.), Kristen (China Grove, N.C.), Angela (New York, NY), Monique (Charlotte, N.C.), Brittany (Charlotte, N.C.), Shonica (Raleigh, N.C.), Calley (Tega Cay, S.C.), Caroline (Charlotte, N.C.), Kara (Charlotte, N.C.), Pamela (Charlotte, N.C.), Christina (Hickory, N.C.), Godwianna (Ana) (Jamestown, N.C.), Kimberly (Burlington, N.C.), Leandra (Charlotte, N.C.).
