MyTV12 To Broadcast 15 Games Locally

The Bobcats and WMYT MyTV12 have partnered to have 15 of the team’s games televised on the new over-the-air station for the 2006-07 season. WMYT-TV will also serve as the flagship station for the Bobcats over-the-air television network that will carry the telecasts in markets in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

As part of the move to MyTV12, all 15 Bobcats games will be preceded by a 30-minute pregame show that will preview that evening’s game, provide an inside look of the team with in-depth player features and showcase the organization’s activities within the Charlotte community.

“We are excited to bring our games into the homes of Bobcats fans on our flagship station, MyTV12, with 30 additional minutes to get closer to our team and players. Bobcats fans will enjoy a game broadcast that features our up-and-coming team plus an innovative production and an entertaining and informative broadcast team,” Bobcats President Fred Whitfield said. “Our over-the-air television network will be finalized shortly and we look forward to showcasing the Bobcats to our fans in all sectors of the Carolinas.”

“We are thrilled to add My Bobcats to the list of sports and entertainment programming on MyTV12,” said WMYT-TV Vice President & General Manager Will Davis. “The timing is perfect because of our affiliation with the new Fox Television Network, MyNetwork TV. As the Official Broadcast Television Partner of the Charlotte Bobcats, WMYT-TV will distribute these free over-the-air Bobcats games to an audience of more than one million television households in the Charlotte market.”
