The Charlotte Bobcats officially opened the team’s new Marketing Center in Uptown Charlotte at the Hearst Tower on North Tryon Street, it was announced today by Ed Tapscott, Bobcats executive vice president and chief operating officer. The Marketing Center will preview the new Uptown Arena, which will be the home of the Charlotte Bobcats and Sting beginning in the fall of 2005.
“This new marketing center is the next phase in the development of the new Uptown Arena,” said Tapscott ”From sitting in an exact replica of a luxury suite to experiencing all that the new arena will offer, the Charlotte community can preview what will surely be one of the top arenas in the country.”
Located on the overstreet mall at the Hearst Tower, the marketing center comprises nearly 6,000 square feet and features an exact replica of one of the new arena’s 50 Uptown Suites – complete with state-of-the-art amenities, including deluxe seating, VIP parking, flat-screen television, elegant fixtures, refrigerator, bar and lounge area. The new arena will have 60 total suites, with 10 larger suites on the Founder’s Level. In addition to Bobcats and Sting home games, suite holders will receive a “season pass” to events throughout the year at the new arena.
The Marketing Center also features samples of the new arena’s Royal Box and Terrace Table options. These premium seating opportunities are new to the Charlotte market and provide a luxurious value alternative to the Uptown Suite.
The Royal Box is an opera-styled box with a private, open-air design to accommodate four, six or eight people. The 37 boxes include table-top seating, allowing fans to dine or conduct business while watching the games, and one complimentary parking pass for every four seats in the box. Food and drink are served by Royal Box wait staff, and Royal Box holders have membership privileges to the private club restaurant and lounge, which they can visit before, during and after games. A flat-screen television also sits on a table to allow fans to watch instant replays or get scores from around the NBA.
Directly above the Royal Box is the Terrace Table option. This half-moon shaped table will seat four or six people with excellent sightlines of the court. Approximately 29 rows from the arena floor, these locations combine comfortable seats, tableside wait service and a social atmosphere while featuring flat-screen television monitors at each table for easy viewing of instant replays and close-ups of oncourt action. One complimentary parking pass is provided for each Terrace Table.
Visitors to the Marketing Center will be greeted in a reception area that features an authentic hardwood basketball court and hoop, video board and imagery reflective of the new arena. Guests will also be able to take a virtual look at the new arena during tours led by Bobcats staff.
