Bobcats Donate $25,000 To Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

Bobcats guard Matt Carroll visited the KISS 95.1 FM studio on Thursday, September 1 to present a check from the Charlotte Bobcats Organization in the amount of $25,000 to the American Red Cross to aid in the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

Carroll made the presentation on The Ace & TJ Show, which began raising money and collecting supplies to donate to the victims of Hurricane Katrina on Monday, August 29 in their Give to the Gulf campaign.

In all, the Give to the Gulf campaign raised over $250,000 and managed to collect 15 eighteen-wheelers full of supplies to aid in the relief effort, becoming one of the largest private relief efforts in the country.

Throughout the NBA, similar efforts are underway by teams, players and the league office to assist this important relief organization in the difficult task that lies ahead.
