Rush Taking Part In Operation Rebound

Bobcats guard Kareem Rush spent Thursday afternoon with more than a dozen NBA and WNBA players riding in a caravan of 20 tractor trailers full of supplies that were distributed for the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts in the state of Mississippi.

The NBPA and WNBPA joined forces with "Feed the Children" in "Operation Rebound," a relief effort to provide food and assistance to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The caravan departed from Jackson, Mississippi at 8:00 a.m., and made delieveries to Hattiesburg, Mississippi at 11:00 a.m. and Gulfport and Biloxi, Mississippi at 3:00 p.m.

Other NBA players involved in Operation Rebound included Derek Fisher (Golden State), Theo Ratliff (Portland), Shareef Abdur-Rahim (Sacramento), Samuel Dalembert (Philadelphia), Devean George (L.A. Lakers), Allan Houston (New York), Lindsey Hunter (Detroit) and Travis Outlaw (Portland).

WNBA players in the caravan weere Tamika Catchings (Indiana), Swin Cash (Detroit), Tamika Whitmore (Los Angeles) and Theresa Weatherspoon (New York).
