Bobcats Head Coach Mike Dunlap gave second-year point guard Kemba Walker the “keys to the car” when D.J. Augustin left for Indiana in the offseason, and Walker’s been nearly accident free since getting behind the wheel. Walker has scored in double digits in all seven of Charlotte’s games is averaging a team-best 19.0 points and 5.1 assists. Walker has also found a way to pull down 3.7 rebounds while also ranking second in the NBA with 2.86 steals a game. Easily drafted in the second half of point guards in fantasy drafts, Kemba has been clutch for his fantasy owners so far.

On a team with the likes of Rudy Gay, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph – all anchors of fantasy rosters and early-round picks, it’s the play of another 6-1 point guard that’s been making fantasy players take notice. Mike Conley is almost as hot at Walker to start the season, ranking third on the Grizz with 14.8 points to go with 6.8 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 2.00 steals. He does cough it up a little more with 3.17 turnovers, so Walker might be able to stay near the top of the NBA steals list when he takes the court with Conley.

When Ramon Sessions went from starting with the Los Angeles Lakers at the end of the 2011-12 season, to being a Bobcats reserve in 2012-13, there was some hesitation about how he would take it. Sessions has embraced the role, putting himself out there early as a potential Sixth Man of the Year candidate. In seven games off the bench, Sessions is averaging 16.3 points, 4.6 assists, 3.4 rebounds and is only turning it over 1.0 time per contest… He has also scored in double-digits in all seven of the Bobcats games heading into Saturday’s slate. It’s rare you can say anybody’s sixth man is a fantasy stud, but Sessions is making a case for himself.

Not only is Monta Ellis enjoying having Brandon Jennnings playing alongside him in Milwaukee, he’s putting up solid fantasy numbers – if you can get past some low shooting percentages. Ellis leads the Bucks with 20.0 points and fills a stat sheet with 5.4 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 1.57 steals and 0.57 blocks. While he is a respectable 82.9 percent (29-for-35) from the charity stripe, he’s struggled from the field, going 52-for-132 (39.4 percent), including 7-for-29 (24.1 percent) from long range. Those types of numbers can destroy your fantasy week, but Ellis is nearly eight percent below his career averages in both categories, so the law of averages states he should bounce back.
