Fans were raving about the colors and style of the Bobcats new alternate road uniforms Wednesday at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Some special fans were given the opportunity to be at the unveiling, and afterwards they received tours of the Bobcats locker room and met players Sean May and Adam Morrison, who were sporting the new uniform.
“I like the new uniforms a lot,” said Raquel Navarro, a Bobcats fan. “The colors are a lot brighter than the old uniforms, and they are much more eye-catching.”
“The new uniforms have more style,” said Jessica Jacobs, another fan. “It’s a catchier look. People are going to look at them and think ‘Wow!’”
All fans in attendance were enthusiastic about the new uniforms and are anxious to see the Bobcats in the court in their new attire.
“I can’t wait to see the Bobcats play in these uniforms,” Chris Phelps said. “The blue will make them look sharper on the court.”
The alternate uniforms will make their game debut on November 18 at Orlando, and the Bobcats will play in them for the first time at Charlotte Bobcats Arena two days later on November 20. They will be available for sale to the general public in mid-November, in coordination with these games.
“I’m excited that the public is going to be able to purchase the new uniforms,” Phelps said. “I want to buy a blue Adam Morrison jersey. I like how the blue mixes in with the orange, white and black, and I like the emblem down on the leg.”
At the unveiling, Bobcats President and Chief Operating Officer Fred Whitfield and General Manager and Head Coach Bernie Bickerstaff addressed the crowd, and then May and Morrison appeared sporting the new attire. After the excitement settled down, the fans went to the locker room, where they had the opportunity to see the Bobcats lockers, lounge and weight room, as well as interact with May and Morrison.
“The locker room is beautiful,” Jacobs said. “This is a wonderful experience; I’ve never been able to do anything like this before.”
May and Morrison signed autographs and posed for pictures with fans, all while wearing the new uniforms, which were a hit among everyone.
“It’s cool that I’ve gotten my picture taken with Sean and Adam wearing the new blue jerseys,” Hillary Bauer said. “I’m one of the first people to see them, and I might be one of the only people to have a picture with the new uniforms. I think the blue is a great color, and I’m glad the Bobcats opted to go in this direction.”
