LaRita Barber
Vice President of Community Relations
A native Charlottean with deep roots in the community, she served as the senior associate director of the Urban Institute at UNC Charlotte where she interfaced with government, non-profit and corporate agencies in the Charlotte metropolitan area. Barber also was vice president of small business and area councils for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, where she developed the chamber’s minority business leadership institute and diversity business council. Prior to that she was the founding director of the internship program at Queens University. She and her husband Sam have two sons, Julian (9) and Jordan (6).

Andy Feffer
Vice President of Marketing
Has more than 10 years experience in the marketing arena with an emphasis in professional sports. He previously worked for the Baltimore Orioles as director of business operations with an emphasis on leading the club’s minor league operations. Most recently he was the founder and president of Frontier Group, a marketing services company for media, entertainment and sports properties. He and his wife Susan are the parents of 10-month old son Jake.

John Guagliano
Vice President of Broadcasting and Game Operations
Will oversee the club’s radio, television and in-arena productions as well as the organization’s game operations and entertainment components. He guided the broadcasting and game operations programs for the Nashville Predators from the organization’s first season in 1998 and won a 2001 Emmy for Best Live Sports Program. He worked in Charlotte as producer of the Hornets television broadcasts from 1991-98 and won two Emmys for Best Live Sports Program. He is married to Elizabeth.
Jamie Hall
Director of Ticket Operations
Was the facility box office manager at his alma mater, the University of South Carolina, where he oversaw the start-up of the box office for the new Carolina Center. Before that position he guided the ticket operations of the Nashville Predators from the team’s inception in the NHL. He began his career as box office manager for the Charlotte Knights and the Charlotte Hornets Training Center in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
Karl Hicks
Vice President of Basketball Administration
Came to the Bobcats from his post as executive director of the NBDL, the NBA’s National Basketball Development League. He was the lead basketball executive at the NBDL for two-plus seasons, overseeing player personnel, officiating, scheduling and on-court policy and procedures. Prior to his professional sports tenure, he worked in collegiate athletics as assistant commissioner for the Southeastern Conference, an enforcement representative for the NCAA and assistant basketball coach at American University under Tapscott. He and his wife Melanie have one son, Eli (1).
Scott Leightman
Director of Public Relations
Moved to Charlotte after five years with the Phoenix Suns, most recently as director of basketball communications. Recently he designed and implemented the promotional campaign for voters that helped Amare Stoudemire become the 2003 NBA Rookie of the Year. Before joining the Suns he served as Sports Information Director at La Salle University and Bloomsburg University and worked at the 1994 World Cup venue in New York/New Jersey. Early in his career he worked for the New Jersey Nets and the NBA league office. He will marry his fiancée Margo next spring.
Ed Lewis
Vice President of Franchise Relations
Has a wide range of professional experience, including 10 years with BET Networks, serving as vice president of community affairs and a consultant to Bob Johnson. Some of his other experience includes tenures as vice president of government relations for Leeward Island Lottery Holdings in the Caribbean, deputy general manager for District Cablevision and general manager of District Cable Advertising. He was a National Urban Fellow, Ford Foundation Fellow and associate administrator for procurement for the U.S. Small Business Administration. He is the parent of three sons, Todd, Derek and Barry, and one daughter Kimberly.
Kay Lowery
Director of Human Resources
Before joining the Bobcats she served as human resources manager for J.D. Edwards in Charlotte where she facilitated the human resources function during the company’s acquisition of YOUcentric. She also was part of YOUcentric during that company’s beginning and implemented the company’s benefits and human resources policies. Lowery worked for Berenfield Containers as human resources administrator and also worked for the Daily Herald Newspaper’s human resources department in suburban Chicago. She holds a professional human resources certification. She is married to Mike.
Colleen Millsap
Executive Vice President of Administration
Oversees the company’s human resources, information technology and administration. Start-up companies are familiar territory as she was involved from the beginning as chief financial officer for RLJ Companies, E-Vidient (a subsidiary of GE Capital’s GE Americom) and Digital Nation. She advanced from chief financial officer to president of Benchmark Communications in a five-year stint from 1993-96 and before that held a career in public accounting. She and her husband Mark have three children, son Christopher (11), son Colby (9) and daughter Markie (7).
Jamie Pope
Vice President of Information Technology
Is a native Charlottean with a strong background in the computer infrastructure and emerging technologies. He joined the Bobcats after terms with Bank of America as the system engineer/architect and YOUcentric/J.D. Edwards, where he was senior systems administrator and built the company’s infrastructure. He also worked in the computer systems departments at Professional Settlement Services and Julius Blum in the Charlotte area. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he and his wife Crystal are the parents of two daughters, Ashlee (11) and Abrielle (7).
Tod Rosensweig
Vice President of Corporate Partnerships
Worked for the Boston Celtics for 21 years in a variety of capacities, including director of sales, director of public relations, director of marketing and vice president of marketing and communications. Following his time with the Celtics he was General Director of Olympic and Event Marketing of John Hancock Financial Services and most recently founded TRiumph Marketing, with clients such as Sony and Sporting News Radio. He is married to Rebecca and has three children, daughter Lauren (23), and sons Scott (20) and Kyle (14)..
Barry Silberman
Executive Vice President of Arena Development, Operations and Entertainment
Has been involved as an arena executive and consultant for more than 30 years. Most recently, he supervised all stadium-related projects in Latin and South America for Pan American Sports Stadiums, Inc. He served 15 years with Centre Management in Washington, DC, where as president he was responsible for assisting in the building of MCI Center, home of the Washington Wizards, and managing, developing and marketing MCI Center, Capital Centre, Baltimore Arena and other arenas around the country. He and his wife Laura have a daughter Mallory (19) and a son Jordan (16).
Peter Smul
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Joined the expansion team from the NBA league office, where he was vice president of league development. Previously, he was an integral part of the management teams for the WNBA and NBA’s start-up minor league, the NBDL, and led a task force in developing a new ownership model for the WNBA and its teams, allowing for ownership by non-NBA franchises. Additionally, he was responsible for researching and analyzing WNBA expansion cities, identifying prospective team owners and negotiating with expansion candidates. He and his wife Debra are the parents of six-year-old twins, daughter Lucie and son Jack.
Steve Swetoha
Senior Vice President of Business Operations
Directs the suite, premium and ticket sales and service operation for the Bobcats and oversees the business operation for the Charlotte Sting. He has more than 15 years experience in the sports management and ticket sales industry. Prior to joining the Sting and Bobcats, he was a sales consultant to the NBA and WNBA where he was responsible for training various teams. He served as director of ticket sales for the Jacksonville Jaguars, RDV Sports - the ownership entity of the Orlando Magic, Dover Motorsports and the Cleveland Lumberjacks, and was director of telemarketing for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He and his wife Michelle have a son, Matthew (7).
Tom Ward
Executive Vice President of Business Operations
Returns to Charlotte to lead the club’s sales, sponsorship, broadcasting and marketing areas. A veteran of two professional sports start-ups, he originally came to the Queen City in 1988 for the Hornets’ inaugural NBA season as vice president of marketing and spent nine years with the club. Prior to Charlotte, he served a seven-year term with the Washington Bullets, the last two as director of marketing. Before joining the Bobcats, he was executive vice president of business operations for the Nashville Predators, introducing the NHL expansion franchise to the Nashville market. He and his wife Joanne are the parents of daughters Kelsey (16) and Summer (13), and son Robert (11).
Chris Weiller
Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs
Responsible for the branding of the new organization and overseeing the team’s external relations efforts. He joined the Bobcats after a background that included work in the NBA, television and entertainment industries. He was vice president of events and attractions at the NBA league office for three-plus years before the Bobcats and served as vice president of communications for the New York Knicks from 1996-99, including the club’s run to the NBA Finals in 1999. Weiller has also worked for Madison Square Garden, Good Morning America and ABC Television. He and his wife Leslie have two children, a daughter Allie (9) and a son Jack (6).
Sheryl Willie
Controller
Is a native Charlottean and brings a strong financial background to the Bobcats. She was director of accounting for Dale Earnhardt, Inc. from 1997-2000 where she implemented and planned an automated accounting system for the company’s entities. She recently served as director of business services for Presbyterian Laboratory Services, was the budget analyst for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education. Her professional career started in Washington, DC with Ernst & Whinney and she also worked for Medlantic Management and as comptroller for Pallotti High School and Child Care Center in Laurel, Maryland. She and her husband Randall have a daughter Christin (1).
