Fourth Annual Street Turkeys a Success
As has become tradition in Charlotte the last four years, the fourth annual Street Turkeys drive on November 22 was a rousing success.
Over $26,663 in cash contributions, along with 350 turkeys and 6,000 pounds in canned goods were collected as the Bobcats and WFNZ?Sports Radio 610 AM/1660 AM teamed up to collect and distribute food to those in need over the holidays in the Charlotte community.
Fans were able to participate by bringing turkeys, canned food or monetary donations to the WFNZ?Dog House on November 22. Donations were also accepted at Charlotte Bobcats Arena beginning at 5:30 p.m. on that day prior to the game against the Boston Celtics.
Fans who made a cash donation of $15 or more, donated one or more turkeys or donated five or more canned goods received a 2-for-1 ticket voucher to that evening’s Bobcats game as the home team defeated Boston 92-83.
All food collected and monetary donations were split equally between Loaves & Fishes Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank
